Update Product Review~Halo Top & Arctic Zero

Ok So far of the high protein, high fiber, lower sugar, lower calorie ice creams. I have also been trying Halo Top and Arctic Zero.

Of the Halo Top so far, I have tried the S'mores, Chocolate Almond Crunch, Lemon Cake, and Peanut Butter Cup.

I didn't care for the S'mores flavor at all. It was weird, and artificial tasting, and the "chocolate chips" in it were very obviously carob, they were much too hard and never really melted, and had a bad aftertaste, even though generally I like carob! But, all the chocolate chips in Enlightened are REAL chocolate that melt in your mouth with out any weird aftertaste. So it was just, not something I would buy ever again.

Next I tried Chocolate Almond Crunch. While it wasn't that chocolaty and a little weird tasting, it had a good texture. And over all I did like it. And I would buy it again.

Peanut Butter cup, I liked, the texture was good, and flavor. It still seemed to lack something, not sure what. But, again over all I liked it, and would purchase it again. I still like Enlightened better, but Halo Top is more accessible, and if I am out of town or something and want ice cream, I most likely will find Halo Top easier then Enlightened.

Lemon Cake on the other hand, has been my absolute favorite, and I will for sure be buying it again. It's a light lemon taste, with a nice vanilla cake flavor that really comes through. I really really enjoy it!

I have also bought strawberry but have not gotten to try it yet.

One note about Halo Top, they defrost much quicker then Enlightened, and if I don't get to them with in about 10 minutes they are a melted puddle! So I have to be more careful about keeping a eye out on the time I leave them before eating.

Arctic Zero, I bought the Snicker Doodle Dandy, Brownie Blast, and a third flavor, but can't remember what it was, I haven't tried the third flavor yet.

I first tried the Snicker Doodle Dandy and just was not impressed at all... it was waaaay too icy. I only tried half of it and put it back in the freezer and didn't return to the rest.

Then I tried ONE bite of the Brownie Blast and felt the same way about it. So just left them in the freezer.

Yesterday I was watching YouTube and several people liked the Brownie Blast. I decided to try it again. I let it melt a extra long time though, cause it was HOT outside, and I had to go meet a friend so I brought it with me. (we were meeting at a Burger King for the kids to play, so bringing my own ice cream may not sound as weird in this situation! lol). By, the time I got to it, it was MUCH more creamy then it was the time before! It was actually really good. So I have figured out for the texture to be right, they need a EXTRA long time to defrost. Now I will probably buy it again! The brownie bits did have a little off taste (not like real brownie flavor) but the texture was awesome! So I did like it a lot.

I went ahead and tried the rest of the Snicker Doodle Dandy by doing the same thing, letting it sit out longer. While that did help the ice cream part of the texture, I did NOT like the Snicker Doodle Cookie part as those were soggy and not crunchy. Cookies in my ice cream I would like to be a little crispy/crunch to them. And the flavor just seemed lacking. I will not buy it again.

However, with the success of the Brownie Blast, I will try a few more flavors and see what I think. The calories are so low, it will be worth the try. Plus literally the Arctic Zero brand is sold at ALL my grocery stores, and often goes on sale. So that's a bonus as well.
